Description

A Behaviour Analyst (Supervised Practice) in Ontario designs and implements Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programs for individuals with developmental disabilities, focusing on skill-building (communication, daily living) and behaviour reduction, while directly training caregivers/staff, collecting/analyzing data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, all under supervision for eventual autonomous practice as a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA)

Core Responsibilities
  • Program Development & Implementation: Design, implement, and monitor ABA-based skill-acquisition and behaviour-reduction plans (e.g., reinforcement, extinction).
  • Data Analysis: Create data collection systems and analyze data to make informed decisions about treatment modifications.
  • Staff/Caregiver Training: Train parents, support workers, and other staff on ABA procedures and behaviour management.
  • Collaboration: Work within interdisciplinary teams with psychologists, educators, and other professionals.
  • Supervision: Receive regular supervision (e.g., 2 hrs bi-weekly) to develop competencies and prepare for autonomous practice.
